FMP week 3

I have lost some valuable time for my FMP due to being in Paris and I have a lot to do.
I have some ideas on what style to do my campaign in. I am really fascinated by the artist Nikki Farquharson. She works with a lot of fashion images and incorporated her illustration into it. She is known as a mixed media artist. To check her out click here http://www.nikkifarquharson.com/home.php.
I will research into her and her artwork.
I need to begin my primary research. To do this I am going to email Topshop asking what requirements is needed to be a model for them.
I need to create questionnaires to find out what women size's are and their opinions on the current models used to see if my opinion is shared and if my campaign will go to a good cause.

PARIS

Last week on my Birthday I went on a college trip to Paris for a week.
Overall I really enjoyed myself and we did allot of sight seeing.

I went to the British Ambassadors residence, which is a once in a life time opportunity I was told! Before I went I was clueless and I am glad that I have been as I learned a lot about it. It had beautiful architecture and great history and is still used today.
I went to the Louvre where the Mona Lisa painting lives, I enjoyed this museum however it was very big and a lot of the art work was very similar style and religious.
I went to the Eiffel Tower which was a beauty! Notre Dame which was also beautiful. We did much more!

The trip has benifited me as we did bump into Paris fashion week whilst we was out there and to see the models infront of you really made you realise how skinny they were. When I have seen them on TV or in a magazine it catches your eye but you dont really know what your looking at as in pictures they are from a different perspective, but to see them in reality hit me and gave me the will power to do this project and encouraged me to continue my campaign against skinny models.

FMP

For my final major project I am going to be doing an advertising campaign for normal curvy models. I am doing my campaign through Topshop.
I will also be re-designing Topshops logo to suit my campaign.

I want to do this campaign as it was London fashion week and I was looking through magazines and just looking at how skinny the models really are and how it advertises eating disorders. The models also have no breasts and lack of hips which is really un womanly! i mean why dont they just get men to dress up as girls. I really think that it does not flatter clothing in any way. It is a very pressuring media and I want to research and discover why it has got like this and to campaign against it. I will be making a series of adverts to do this.
