Developing my personal style

I have developed my style by using the proportion correctly as-well as exaggerating them. I have decided ot exaggerate the legs as you can see. I have also tried to play with colour more. I decided to do this illustration in 2 colours. I have kept the skin white also as i feel it flows better. For this I have used water colour and a fine line pen. I love how the water colours blend with the fine liners.

Photography...

I have been learning the basics of photography. About the aperture and shutter speed. Today I played with aperture. This changes the depth of field in a photo. The smaller the aperture the deeper the depth of field as you can tell by the more focused photograph.

Uni!

Well I have started University and started my course properly! And I fucking really love it! I am doing Photography and Magazine layout and also fashion illustration which i love! For home work I have had to practice drawing models in proportion. Now doing life drawing last year at college I learnt that people usually have between 6 to 7 heads between them. Models have shockingly 9 heads to their body length! WOW! For home work I have had to draw one model in Lingerie, sports wear and a coat. (best homework ever!) haha here is my first attempt :)

WEBSITE DESIGN overview.

WHAT INSPIRED ME?
What inspired me was actually the Helvetica type and the film. Through researching helvetica it made me realise how nice the typeface was and how nice it looks like on its own. That is what made me want to have just type for my navigation buttons.
What actually inspired me to make the animation was pureky at the top of my head. And my idea was obviously too big for my time limit.

DOES IT WORK?
Yes it does all work successfully. All the links work perfecty well and conects to pages very well.

WHAT I THINK?
I do like my website but I feel it is not 100% yet but I am very proud of what I have achieved and am very greatful to my tutor for his guidance. (Only nice thing I will ever say!!) Over all it works nicely. I do wish my work from my extended project had been returned in time as it has some of my favourite fashion illustrations which i wanted to include more.

To develop my website further I would like to finish it to my design and would love to get it running.

WEBSITE DESIGN the making.

This is what my main first page looks like. It is my name and each individual letter is clearly marked with navigation labels. I wanted plain type as I thought it looked fresh and crisp. I like the use of white space. The only thing I was disappointed that I did not have time to add my second name. I originally wanted my second name to be my project navigation.

Here I have shown the animation process of my navigation button called 'about' which is in the shape of an 'e' As you can see when you click on it it turns purple and extends. (Yeah I know what it looks like!) Then the other navigation buttons disappears by fading and then my short bio appears. I didnt think about it but my home button disappears so I needed something to get back so I put a small HOME button in the corner to take it back to the start.

Again when clicking on the 'r' it extends and turns orange  and the other navigation fades away and then my contact information appears. I also had to make the same HOME button in the top right hand corner. It is crucial that the placing of the navigation buttons so that it doesn't confuse the user. So I have remained them the same.
Here I have shown the 'i' extending and turning purple. Now from here it turns to a different layout. This is my 'gallery' and more buttons appear on the top. This is to navigate through all of my projects which I have created.

This print screen is from flash to show my animation. All of my animation uses motion tweening. This means you make 2 key frames and change the movement or add something in between the key frames and then select motion tween and it should run smoothly. If the arrow does not appear that means it hasn't worked properly.

Here I have shown my navigation close up. when rolled over it does turn orange. If I had time I would have made it look a bit nicer.

This is my magazine and at the bottom is the pictures of my magazine small and when you click on them it enlarges it. And that is how you view my work.

Kids Visit

Kids aged 8-9 came to visit our college and take part in the Kids activity pack which Georgie organized. I helped out with guiding the kids and helping them make hats! It was very fun and they were all adorable! They made some great things and it was a good experience.

Type

I did not have an existing type poster for my type project so today I have been spending all my time creating one. I am showing my progress so far....

My favorite work in the SHOW

I really like the simplicity of this advert and it really captures the elements of the denim jeans and that is its unique selling point. I love the colours also! This is by Jack Stoneman.
I really love the composition of this magazine cover it deffinetley has edge and it captures the audiences attention successfully. I love how certain parts of the wall are coloured and the layout is really good. This is by Aurthur Johnson.
This poster is really clever and it plays with your vision really well. It deffinetly catches my attention. I also like the simplicity of it. This is by Jack Stoneman.
This really is lovely. I like the picture as it has really captured the texture of the hair and its movement. It is very very simple and it is kept well in theme with Toni & Guy current adverts. This is by Molly Jones.
This is really beautiful! I am very jealous of this poster! ;) It is very vintage and flows very well together. I love the colours also! This is by Chantel Williams.
I think this Coca-Cola advert is very clever. It is very abstract but it connects with the audience and most young people relate and connect to it. It is also very simple but it works very well! This is by Nathan Denny.
This poster is really crazy! (In a good way) I love the randomness of it but is all has relevance to the festival. I love the clock bit it is a very clever way to display the date of the festival. This is by Katie Marshall.
I really love the colours and the layout of this poster. I love how it is not readable and legable but it really works! This is by Lexie Mulholland.

I have taken some pictures of other peoples work which are my favorite in the show. I really love other peoples styles and outcomes and shows our potential and development. Well Done every one great show :)

My work in the SHOW

These are pictures of my work that is up in the show to show what it looks like mounted and give evidence I took part. I am happy with what is on the wall however I feel there is too much of my Topshop Curve campaign about. However I have sold many T-shirts and bags which I am proud of myself and has made me feel a bit more confident in what I do. What do you think of my work in the show?

The SHOW

I think the room is a big improvement from what it was and our feedback from viewers has been very positive. I think we have all done a fantastic job!
