FMP review

I think I have part met my proposal as I have made a poster, logo, bags and T-shirts to demonstrate my campaign for normal sized models. To demonstrate curves I have used a heart in my logo poster and textile designs to be a metaphor for curves as a heart its self has a womanly curve and also the top of the heart could represent a bum or breasts which a woman is mostly known for and these elements make the curve. However I feel that I could have chosen a model with more distinctive curves to promote my campaign. But my model is a healthy size and healthy weight which is what I am promoting (she did a really good job)
I feel that the main things that went well through my final major project were my research (primary and secondary) and my outcomes. I feel that I completed my research to a standard I am happy with. I also feel I covered mostly what I needed to support most of my development process and outcomes so that it all connects.
What did not go so well?Things that did not go so well in my final major project were my time keeping and development. I felt that I did not use my time wisely at all. I spent allot of my time researching when that could have been valuable time to work on my development. I found it slightly stressful to complete as I had 2 University interviews to prepare for, a week in Paris, and an extended project to complete throughout the duration of my final major project, all which were important to me and time consuming . My development didn’t go very well as I did not leave a lot of time for me to work up my designs due to this. I also feel that my poster outcome could have shown the curves off in my model more, however that is due to me finding an appropriate model. I did use healthy sized models that do not promote obesity or being underweight.
If I was to improve my final major project, I would improve my development process as I felt I found my ground pretty much straight away without my outcome, therefore I would have researched into other artists, graphic designers and other adverts which I could use to inspire me and present outcomes in their style. I would have also improved my planning skills which could have been done by making a stronger more detailed plan, which I would have followed better as well, if I was to of done this then maybe my development would have been stronger. Also throughout this project I have had 2 University interviews, a trip to Paris for a week, an extended project to complete which all needed preparation and attention paid to it. I should have also built my plan around this and maybe this project would have run a lot smoother than it did.
Also with my models I used to photograph I could have found a model that had more curves then what I used to portray my campaign and get it across stronger.
This project will help me in the future because I am going to University to study Fashion Graphics which is consists of Fashion Photography, Fashion Advertising, Magazine layout etc. This project has given me the knowledge into the fashion industry and its history, which I found really interesting generally as fashion is a hobby to me as well. I have learnt how to print onto textiles which will definitely benefit me in the future for University. I have also learnt how to express my opinion without being controversial but by doing a campaign which is quite and gets my message across.
I have also been made aware of several health issues that come across with the fashion industry and in the real world. This has made me realise how important healthy eating is and has made me already eat a more balanced diet than what I was eating before. This will also benefit me as I could now tell if people may have this problem and may be able to guide them to help.
To take this project further I would like to present my ideas to the Topshop board and for them to take my idea into consideration and they could develop a campaign of their own similar to mine. I could also take the campaign into my hands and do it without Topshop being a part of it. However the campaign would not take off as well without Topshop being a part of it.
